E. Ye. Krotman was born on June 22, 1968.

From 1985 E. Te. Krotman worked as choirmaster of the St. Petersburg State University Choir, since 1994 he has been the choir's artistic director.

E. Ye. Krotman graduated from the Glinka Choir College in 1986 and the St. Petersburg Conservatory in 1992, in 1994 he accomplished his probation period as assistant.

In 1992 E. Ye. Krotman was awarded a Diploma and a special prize at the International Contest of Choirmasters in Tallinn. From 1995 till 1999 he worked as choirmaster at the Conservatory Musical Theatre where he took part in staging of the following operas: Rossini's "Cinderella", Pichini's "Bogema", Mozart's "Everybody Acts That Way".

Since 2000 E. Ye. Krotman has been working as artistic director and conductor of the chamber choir of the "Smolny Cathedral" state concert and exhibition hall.
