Joint-Stock Company Krasny Vyborzhets

   The authorised capital stock of 49 085 680 rubbles is divided into 7 012 240 shares, 7 rubbles face-value each.
   Being one of the largest Russian plants processing non-ferrous metals, Krasny Vyborzhets produces more than 28 thou. designations of rolled rounds and flat sections. The plant manufactures a wide assortment of copper and copper alloys articles in a form of sheets, bands, pipes, bars, profiles, ingots, plates, striped, which are used in many industries. Krasny Vyborzhets has a closed technological cycle comprising melting, rolling, extruding and drawing. A vacuum division for special alloys production is being restored now. Technological potential of the plant allows to adapt the production according to a customer’s requirements and to supply produce of a wide assortment, with various mechanical and chemical properties. Combination of all-purposes equipment, a century and a half of manufacturing experience along with highly qualified personnel, auxiliary shops and laboratories, well-developed social infrastructure provide a stable plant functioning and high quality of its produce.
   Krasny Vyborzhets is a monopolist in Russia relative to non-ferrous rolled stock:

   Krasny Vyborzhets (the former Rosenkrants Plant) was established in August 1857. By 1870 the plant had been producing fire-tubes of tough-pitch copper and brass, locomotive fire-boxes of tough-pitch copper, pipes of tough-pitch copper, steam- and water- conducting sheets of tough-pitch copper and zinc, copper foundry products.
   By the end of the XIX century the plant became one of the first-class enterprises, the only plant in Russia, which produces seamless copper pipes.
   The history of the plant is inseparably linked with the history of Russia.
   Krasny Vyborzhets developed production of new alloys and articles for shipbuilding, aircraft building, motor-car industry, power engineering and space engineering.
   In 1978 the amount of rolled stock produced by Krasny Vyborzhets came to 143.3 thou. tons. The plant had a staff of 5182 people.
   In January 1993 the industrial merger on non-ferrous metals processing Krasny Vyborzhets was turned into a joint-stock company. A formerly glorious plant was losing its weight. Several independent enterprises, which began to produce consumer goods, metallic plates in particular, were formed on its base. People began to quit the plant because of low salary. By May 2001 the output has fallen to 361 tons. Only about 1200 people stayed at Krasny Vyborzhets.
   Under these conditions, management of the plant was changed in June 2001 and Joint-Stock Company Krasny Vyborzhets began to restore its position on the non-ferrous rolled metals market. A program of a rolled stock output increasing, investing in circulating asserts replenishment and production modernisation, salary increasing, supporting of social infrastructure. orders Two firms were established: Rusmet (Moscow) and Krasny Vyborzhets (St. Petersburg) to provide orders to the plant.
   In July-September a stable output rising is observed at the plant. In October the plant has achieved 1200-ton output of rolled stock. The enterprise is planning to reach an output of 1700-2000 tons a month by March 2002. This will provide the necessary profitability, allow to pay off the dept and provide a salary comparable with that of Russian leading companies.
   The plant has been always known for a high quality of its produce. In July 2001 the company has got a certificate of conformance of the plant’s quality management system with the international standard DIN EN ISO 9002-1994 BVQI. Only during the last months Krasny Vyborzhets was awarded with two European prizes for the quality of its products - the Silver Cannes Medal and the Golden Europe Prize for Quality - a prize of the new millennium.
   At the present time the plant is employing metallurgical and auxiliary workers, specialists and managers.
   By now the Director General of the plant is Israylit Nikolay Solomonovich.
