JSC "Khlebny Dom" is the North-Western region's largest enterprise involved in the production of bread products and pastry. Founded in 1934.

As a result of the five-year-long program of restructuring and modernization of the enterprise, begun in 1994, "Khlebny Dom" is currenly experiencing a rennaisance period. Five out of six production lines have been fully replaced. Production of small bread products and sweet rolls, of new shapes of bread has been mastered. Storage facilities and supply lines have been re-equipped and automated.
Modern systems of management and computerized dosage devices at all stages of the technological process guarantee stable quality of production, confirmed by numerous consumer evaluations. Special coolers and modern packaging equipment allow to overcome practically all limitations on outputing packed products. As a result of the re-equipment of the enterprise's storage facilities, utilization of European-standard lots has been introduced. Washing equipment for such lots has been installed. The enterprise has created an autopark of its own, consisting of 45 specially equipped vans needed for deliveries to city shops.
The enterprise's production capacity is 300 tons of bread products and 50 tons of pryaniks (Russian-style gingerbread cookies) per day. First trademark cafe-shop "Khlebny Dom" has opened at Moskovsky Prospect, 208 in 1998. A wide assortment of bread and pastry (including cakes and croissants), as well as dairy products, is sold there.
On the basis of its work performance in 1999, "Khlebny Dom" has been awarded the "Best enterprise in St. Petersburg's food industry" title.
