JSC “Telecominvest”

   JSC “Telecominvest” (The Company) is a holding management company that unites more than 30 enterprises from all directions of telecommunications industry.
   The Company’s main task is to join forces and possibilities of branch and depending companies to fulfill our Clients’ demands in up-to-date communication services. That is why “Telecominvest” focuses its efforts in attracting investments, telecommunication projects implementing. Share holdings belonging to the Company, allow to manage effectively its subsidiaries.
   JSC “Telecominvest” was founded by the St.Petersburg leading telecommunication companies - JSC “Petersburg Telephone Network” (PTN) and JSC “St. Petersburg National & International Telephone” (SPNIT) in 1994 to provide efficient management for their subsidiaries. In 1996 Telecominvest attracted a major investor to the Russian market of telecommunications: the region’s telecommunications development was supported by one of the largest German banks - Commerzbank represented by its subsidiary First National Holding S.A. which became one of the major shareholders of the Company.
   Last year Swedish telecommunicational concern “Telia A. B.” became an FNH company’s stockholder. Partnership between the Company and Telia concern is developing at all directions of activity of “Telecominvest” Group of operators (The Group).
   To provide a co-ordinated and best development of the Group, the Company carries out the following functions:

• Aims determination and strategic planning of the Group’s companies development;
• Elaboration of the Group’s investing strategy; attraction of investments into the Group’s companies development;
• Elaboration and introduction of new telecommunication services based on modern technologies;
• Establishment or acquisition of companies with the purpose of their further development;
• Co-ordination of the subsidiaries work;
• Consulting on the matters of new project development and implementation.

   At the moment the largest project of the Group is MegaPhone. MegaPhone is an all-Russian project aiming to unite GSM branches into a single network. By now the amount of telephone subscribers has reached 500 thou.
