T. I. Zarkh was born in 1953 into the family of military personnel. To do figure skating the girl started at the age of 11, in the children's sport school. Her secondary education Tatyana accomplished in 1969. At the same year, Tatyana Zarkh won the selection contest to perform with the Leningrad state ballet on ice.

In 1971 T.I. Zarkh married an ballet artist. In 1986 into the family a daughter was born.

T. I. Zarkh worked in ballet for 22 years; in 1992 she retired.

Since 1992 Tatyana Ivanovna Zarkh has been working at the St. Petersburg state ballet on ice as chief of Operations Department. Her long-lasting dream finally came true -- to open the Children's Ice Theatre Studio. The studio started its work in November of 2000.
