Script writer, cheaf artist of Academic Bolshoi Drama Theatre named after G.A. Tovstonogov (Saint-Petersburg).
Graduated from Leningrad State Theatre Institute named after A.N. Ostrovsky in 1960. Designed plays in many Leningrad and Moscow theatres.
Worked successfully with many theatre directors such as R. Agamerzjan, K. Ginkas, V. Fokin, E. Padva, L. Dodin, G. Jankovskaja, Y. Lubimov, ets.
More than 20 years cooperated with G. Tovstonogov. He is the co-author of such masterpieces as "Horse's story" (L. Tolstoi), "Quiet Don" (M. Sholohov), "Pickvick Club's notes" (Ch. Dickens), "Three sisters" and "Uncle Vania" (A. Chehov), ets.
National artist of Russia, laureate of State and International Awards, member of Academy of Arts.
Professor of Institute of Arts named after I. Repin.
Degidned more than 100 plays in Russia and abroad.
