Dodin Lev Abramovich
The Artistic Administrator of the Academic Maly Drama Theatre.
Born May 14, 1944 in Novokuznetsk, Kemerovo oblast.
In 1966 graduated from the Leningrad Theatre, Music and Cinematography Institute, having trained under professor Zon B.V.
Started working as a director in the mid-sixties.
Worked in the Yuong Spectator Theatre and at the Drama and Comedy Theatre.
Since 1990 - an artistic administrator.
The play "Home" by Foydor Abramov was staged by him in 1980 at the theatre received fame throughout the Soviet Union.
His staging of "Brothers and Sisters", "The King of Flies", "Stars in the Morning Sky", "Demons" are very well known. The theatre is a part of Europe Theatres Union.
He is a professor.
National Actor of Russia.
Winner of several USSR and Russian State Prizes.
First among Russian theatrical figures to be awarded the Lawrence Olivier Prize (Great Britain).
Winner of the "Triumph" Prize (1992).
Married. His wife is Shestakova T.B., an actress at the Maly Academic Drama Theatre.
