Born on July 29, 1963, in Leningrad.
In 1989 graduated from the Leningrad Conservatory, Gagen and Bogacheva's class.
Soloist of the Mariinsky Theatre since 1987.
Her repertoire includes: Marina Mnishek ("Boris Godunov"), Olga ("Evgeny Onegin"), Polina ("Queen of Spades"), Zibel ("Faust") and many others.
Successfully performs in opera theatres of Greece, Germany, Austria, Great Britain, Italy, Holland, France. In July 1991, in Spain, at the International Festival (Merida) performed the leading part in the world first night of "Salambo", an opera by Musorgsky. In summer-autumn of the same year made a big round-the-world tour together with Mstislav Rostropovich.
With the troupe of the Mariinsky Theatre toured in Switzerland, Greece, Italy, Germany, Spain, Scotland (Edinburg Festival), Israel, England, the USA (Metropolitan Opera, San Francisco Opera), Portugal, France, Luxembourg, the Netherlands.
Laureate of the I All-Russian competition of Vocalists (1986), laureate of the 12th All-Union Glinka Competition (1987), laureate of the International Competition of Vocalists (Berlin, 1989). In 1997 was awarded with "Gold Sofit-97" for the part of Lubasha in "Tzar's Bride". In 1999 was awarded with "Baltika" prize for "outstanding achievements in opera art". Laureate of the Shostokovich Prize (2000).
