Artistic Administrator of the Vaganova Academy of Russian Ballet.
    Born March 28, 1925 in Leningrad.
    Graduated from the Vaganova Leningrad School of Choreography and from Lunacharsky Moscow State Institute of Theatrical Art.
    From 1943 to 1963 he was a solo ballet-dancer at the Kirov Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre.
    Worked as Chief Ballet-Master at Maly Academic Opera and Ballet Theatre, at the Kirov Opera and Ballet Theatre, at the Cairo Ballet, at the Leningrad Music Hall.
    Staged the ballets "Shore of Hope", "Leningrad Symphony", "Icarus", "Gadfly", etc.
    Has been,since 1992, the Artistic manager of the Academy of Russian Ballet.
    Taught at the Rimsky-Korsakov Leningrad Conservatory for many years.
    National Artist of Russia. Winner of the USSR State Prize.
    Married with son.
