Basilashvili Oleg Valerianovich
Actor at the Tovstonogov Academic Drama
Theatre.
Born September 26,1934 in Moscow.
Having graduated from the the school-studio at the Maly Artistic Academic
Theatre he was taken on by the Leningrad Lenin Komsomol Theatre.
In 1959 was taken on by the Bolshoy Drama Theatre.
Participated in plays staged by Tovstonogov G.A.("Barbarians", "Ocean",
"Three Sisters", "The History of a Horse"). He is well-known for his roles in
Eldar Ryasanov's films "Station for Two", "Love Story", "Use your Influence
of Poor Gusar's Behalf", and in Daneliya's film "Marathon in Autumn".
Winner of the USSR State Prize for the role of "Samokhvalov" in "Love Story".
Winner of the "Golden Spotlights"for "Best Man's role"(1997).
National Actor of Russia (1977), and National Actor of USSR (1981).
From 1990 to 1993 was People's Deputy of Russian Federation.
In 1995 was a regional candidate of the Democratic Choice Party to Russian Duma Deputies.
Married with tow daughters.
