Aleksandrov Yury Isaakovich
Art director of the State Chamber Musical Theatre "Saint Petersburg
Opera", director-producer of the Mariinsky Theatre.
Born February 7, 1950 in Leningrad.
Graguated from the Leningrad Rimsky-Korsakov State Conservatory in piano-playing in 1974 and
as a director in 1977.
Since 1977 has worked at the Kirov Academic Opera and Ballet theatre (Mariinsky theatre). Among
the performances staged there have been "Sorochinsk Fair","Story about Kay and Herda",
"Don Pasquale", "Madame Butterfly"," Evgeny Onegin" and "Boris Godunov"at the State
Chamber Musical Theatre.
Works abroad a lot. On the basis of a long-term contract with the General Broad of opera
theatres in Turkey he has staged "Lohnengrin", "Othello", "Prince Igor" and "Werther".
The Winner of the St.-Petersburg theatrical prize "Golden Spotlights" for "best staging"
at the musical theatre (1997).
Honourary Caltural Worker of Russia (1997).
Married with daughter.
