Chancellor of the Lesgaft Physical Training Academy.
    Born March 10, 1927 in Kainsk, Novosibirsk oblast.
    In 1951 graduated from the Physical Training College and in 1955 the Lesgaft Physical Training Institute.
    In 1941 worked in Omsk as a maintenance man and mechanic at a defence factory evacuated from Leningrad during the World War II. In 1945 the factory was evacuated back. He kept on working in Leningrad.
    From 1949 worked as a Komsomol and Party leader.
    From 1957 to 1960 headed the football team "Zenit" and from 1960 to 1964 was the Chairman of the oblast Council of the Leningrad Youth Sports Society "Trud".
    From 1964 was Chair of Physical Training Department of the Leningrad State University.
    From 1973 has been working as the Chancellor of the Lesgaft Physical Training Academy. Has headed the Chair of Management and History of Physical Training.
    Doctor of Pedagogical Science, professor.
    Honourary Doctor of the Budapest and Seoul University.
    Full Member of the Petrov Science and Arts Academy, of the International Information Technology Academy.
    Chairman of the Board of the Physical Training High Schools Chancellors.
    Member of the National Olympic Committee of Russia.
    Honourary Worker of Science.
    Awarded the medal "For Outstanding Labour in the Great Patriotic War in 1941-1945" (1948), the "Sign of Honour" Order (1980), the Order of friendship (Poland), and six medals.
    Married with son.
