Olga V. Ivanova was born in 1952 in Leningrad.

Graduated from Leningrad State Pedagogical Institute named after A. I. Gerzen in 1973 and the Higher Communist Party school in 1990.

Worked as a teacher of Russian language and Russian literature, as a deputy head in the schools of Moskovsky borough. She worked for Leningrad party committee and for Moskovsky borough party committee. From 1994 till 2000 Olga V. Ivanova was the head of the educational department of Moskovsky administrative borough. From November 2003 - the head of the committee for education.
