Grustilin Yuri Vladimirovich
Director of Baltic Regional Social Culture and Education Fund. One of the authors of "Personalities of St. Petersburg" Internet project.
Born in Leningrad on October 17, 1945. Graduated from Leningrad Radio Technical Professional School. Served in the army, afterwards worked and studied at Leningrad Institute of Aviation Devices. Attended Leningrad State University's Philological Faculty, combining study and work.
Yuri Grustilin has worked in the military industry complex for the main part of his working career. Since 1994 he has worked in APEC personnel selection agency. Since 1997 he has been combining his work at APEC with the duties of the Baltic Fund's Director. He carried out a large amount of interesting and difficult work, supporting artists, writers and other creative people.
Yuri Grustilin was an open-hearted, kind, honest and just man. He was a man of his word. A sincere and reliable friend, a loving husband.
His favorite activities included reading, mushroom-picking, tree-planting, construction work, radio repairs and fixing whatever may be broken. He loved holidays and marked every one of them. He treated women with special piety, considering them to be creatures of a higher, more sophisticated, order.
He died an unexpected death in April, 2000.
