Fox Steven
Born in 1978 in New York City.
Began studying the saxophone at the age of 8, and shortly thereafter began learning the piano and classical guitar.
Mr. Fox holds a Bachelor of Arts degree from Dartmouth College, where he studied conducting with Louis Burkot, piano with Sally Pinkas, and voice with Erma Gattie.
In 1999, Mr. Fox acted as Assistant Conductor for the New York Baroque Ensemble.
In the year 2000, Mr. Fox was accepted into the Royal Academy of Music, London, where he is now a candidate for the Master of Music degree.
In May of 2001, he founded Musica Antiqua Sankt Peterburg, the orchestra for which he is now President and Director of Music.
Musica Antiqua Sankt Peterburg has established itself as St. Petersburg's first period-instrument orchestra and one of the city's pre-eminent promoters of historically-informed performance practice. During the spring and summer of 2001, the orchestra presented an outstanding opening series of concerts, each well-attended and greatly appreciated by the Russian public.
The orchestra's opening concert was held on May 7th in the Malii Zal Philharmonia in St. Petersburg.
