Arro, Vladimir Konstantinovich
Writer, playwrighter.
Born August 2, 1932 in Leningrad.
Graduated from the Leningrad Herzen Pedagogical Institute. Served in the army, worked at various city and oblast schools, at a research institute for adult education.
Since 1966 has been writing books.
Headed a review department of "Neva" magazine.
Worked for radio.
Author of 15 books. In1976 started writing theatrical plays. The first play, "Execution", was staged at the Pushkin Academic Drama Theatre. The play, "Look, who's come!" staged at the Moscow Mayakovsky Theatre, was noticed by the public and received a lot of attention.
Author of the plays such as "The Track", "Tragic and Comic Actors", "The Garden", "The Sky is Blue but also Cloudy".
From 1989 to 1993 headed a Leningrad literary organisation.
Deputy of the Leningrad- St.Petersburg Council (1990- 1993). Chairman of the Commission on Glasnost.
Member of the St.Petersburg Writers Union.
Member of the Pen-club.
