Born on November 10, 1950. In 1976 graduated from the Leningrad Institute of Precise Mechanics and Optics with the speciality "Computers". In March of the same year started working at LOMO as an engineer.

Held posts of an industrial engineer, leading mathematician, head of the bureau, head of the production and technological innovations department. In 1994 was appointed deputy trade director in finance, and since October 1997 director of economy and finance.

Under his direction new departments of finance and company assets management (one of the first at production enterprises in St. Petersburg) were organized at LOMO, that worked effectively under market economy conditions.

Since October 1999 till the present time Alexander Aronov has been the First Deputy General Director of LOMO, and in 2000 he was elected Chairman of the Board. "Today we are building a company capable of creating high-technology products conforming to the highest international standards", - considers Mr. Aronov.

In 1989 Alexander Aronov got a degree of Candidate of Engineering Sciences; he is the author of more than 40 published works.

Has state awards: the bronze medal of National Economy Achievements Exhibition, the medal "300 Years of the Russian Fleet", the medal of the order "For Services Rendered to the Motherland" of the second degree.
