Reiman Leonid Dodojonovich
Minister of Information Technologies and Communications
Born July 12, 1957 in Leningrad. Graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Communications Institute in 1979, specializing in Communications Engineering.
After graduation he has worked as an engineer and shop foreman at a long-distance telephone station in Leningrad.
Since 1985 he has taken chief administrative positions at the Leningrad City Telephone Network. From 1988 until 1999 he has been aide to the Network's Director, Chief Engineer of the Network, Director of international affairs, Director of investments, First Aide to the St. Peterburg Telephone Network's General Director.
In July 1999 he was appointed First Deputy of Russia's State Telecommunications Committee Chairman. In August 1999 he became Chairman of this Committee. Since November 1999 he has been Russia's Information Technologies and Telecommunications Minister.
Married, has a son and a daughter.
