Ivanov Igor Alexeevich
Painter, theater artist
Born on January 16, 1937 in Leningrad.
In his youth he participated in International Competition Of Young Artists (15-16 year old group), where he has won firs prize of India's Premier Minister Dzhavaharlala Neru. After graduation from Repin Academy of Fine Arts he has been working in various theaters of Lithuania. Upon he return to St. Petersburg he became the first artist of Komissarzhevskij Drama Theater, Academic Comedy Theater, and, from 1981 until 1989, in Kirov Theater of Opera And Ballet (Mariinskij Theater), where he has directed such shows as Ëvgenij Onegin", "Zhizel", and "Swan Lake".
During his career he has participated in the productions of over 150 shows, including Moscow's theaters "Sovremennik","On Little Bronnaya", Stanislavskij Theater, and many other theaters of Baku, Kiev, Minsk, Tallin, and Poland. The most productive period of his career is closely tied tocreative partnership with Petr Fomenko and Yurij Temirkanov. I. A. Ivanov has also designed various theatrical posters, which were praised by many international and local competitions and shows, and were included in catalogues and in the museum collections around the world.
